Seven Sugar Factories Start Production Next Year

Seven of the ten National Sugar Factories are to start production at the end of the coming Ethiopian year, Ethiopian Sugar Corporation announced.

Tendaho- 1 & 2, Omo-Kuraz-1, Kesem, two of the Tana Beles projecta and Arjo- Dedesa are the seven factories expected to start full scale operation.

When these factories go in to full scale production, they will raise nation’s annual sugar production to 1.58 Million Tons, Ethiopian Sugar Corporation’s Communication Director Zemedkun Zawde said.

At the end of the next Ethiopian budget year, Ethiopia will have 10 sugar factories with a total annual production capacity of 2.25 Million Tons.
